On Dec. 1st, Traveler motored out of Marina Mazatlan for the last time.  We begain a trip that I call “The Baja Stress!”   I,  along with brother Dennis Johnson, aka ”Needeep” and Jim Fleming aka “Antisaption” spent the next 9 day’s motoring in flat, sometimes “lake” like seas.   We had one heavy weather day, with wind in the 30 to 40 knts. for a short time and seas out of the east on the beam up to 8ft.   We  had a 4 day lay over in Turtle bay.    I had to send the crew home on Dec. 13th  via Bus in Esanada after a we missed a weather window to finish the the last 60 miles of the the trip because I wanted to do teh right thing and check out with Mexican customs & Imergartion.  That’s another store.     Traveler and I would have to wait 4 more days and deal with the most stressfull part of the trip which was dealing with the Mexican Goverment in checking in and out of their country.   I pulled into San Diego on Tuesday Dec. 16th at 5:00 pm and cleared custom’s within 30 miuntes.    Again I had to wait out another front coming down the coast  before I could finish the trip.

I took advantage of that by going home for two day’s.   I left again on Dec. 20th and had a very nice sunny motor sail to Dana Point and finished the trip at 3:15pm as I pulled into Slip 27, Travelers new home.   More details to follow about the “Stress Test in Ensanada” later!
